Hey, sorry I haven't posted in a long time. I haave been busy with work experience and alkig with a certain someone. But thank god, my work experience finished the thursday that has just passed. I has been a long and tiring 6 weeks of work experience for me. Annd the special someoe has probably been taking up the rest of my time. Amazing person he is.
An another note, my tinnitus seems to sometimes get worse and other times go down.
I havent been weariong my hearing aids for the previous 6 weeks at all, because i have just been to busy. And i wouldnt be able to understand speech with them yet, i dont think. And i would have to try and get used to the hearing aids being there on top of trying to understand what people are saying and all the other things. And i gthink its a good thing that i didnt because i have been sweatring a lot under the sun, it has rained and i have gotten dirty. So my hearing aids might of got sweat in them, wet from rain and dirty. Which might of broken them.
I am thi nking about wearing my hearing aids only when my tinnitus is unbearable and hard to ignore, etc. But when it is manageable and easily to ignore, etc i won't wear them.
It has been 2 months since i got my hearing aids, and the fact is i have barely worn them. And i am sorry to those people who really want me to wear them.
I recieved an email the other day from my audiologist saying that she needs to see me ASAP because i still haven't had that follow up appionment with her. Which means i need to start wearing my hearing aids more and more again.
I think and probably am back at sqaure one again.

Results of yesterdays challenge
So I put my hearing aids in just after lunch time. And didnt last long that time. probably around half an hour. respon why i took them out is my older brother came in my room and started being loud. and he was loud. and i couldnt stand it. so i took my hearing aids out. They remained out for quite a while because i kinda forgot about theem and was 'recovering'. 3 or 4 hours later, i tryed again. So i put my hearing aids in my ears and lasted longer than first try around about an hour me thinks. Reason why i took them out is because my ears were starting to get fed up of the hearing aids being in my ears and started to get tired of listening and my ears got fatiguedd. So i took them out. That time the hearing aids were out of my ears for a couple of hours. Then i tryed again and only lasted around 30 mins.
Challenge again
I am afraid to say. I am going to have to try the challenege again today because it didnt go too well yesterday.
maybe, today i might wear my hearing aids for longer this time.

Challenge
I am going to call it a challenge because i dont know wot else to call it.
It is officially going to start in like 5-10 mins. It starts when i have inserted both my hearing aids into my ears and have turned both of them on. Then it will have started. I will time how long i have/will keep them in my ears for. I will also write down how many times i have taken them out, how many times i have insserted my hearing aids into my ears and how ;long the recovery time lasts each time. I am going to roughly do this for 10 hours unless i offically give up i.e. i have just taken my hearing aids out for at longest an hour before i will say i give in. And publish the results after those 10 hours.

Today
So I have kinda promised a friend that i will try and wear my hearing aids for 4 hours continousally.
Whilst I was talking to another friend, he suggested that i wear them until i feel fatigue then take them off and recover and put the hearing aids back on as soon as i have recovered. Which sounds a much better idea. So i will probably do his idea. But yet again i could get fatigue every 5 mins or so, but idk until i try. And yet the recovery time could be long, but i guess it won't be.
Its probably going to be a long day.
I dread having to put them on and wear my hearing aids. I rather just leave my hearing aids out and maybe take them out or something if im going somewhere. BUt in a way its the only way i will learn to properly wear my hearing aids because the other way is if a friend was here with me he/she could put my hearing aids in and turn them on and he/she would have to watch me like a hawk and if i take them out then my friend would have to put them back in. That is probably the only way i will actually properly learn and know that i have to and must wear my hearing aids. Even though it is forcefully. it will probably work. But when is that going to happen.
I will try and wear them after lunch. And see how it goes.
I am doing this for me to try and get used to wearing my hearing aids and listening and hearing with my 'new' ears. As well as cause my audiologist sent me an email the other day askeing me to book an appiontment with her because i havent seen her in over a month and i was supposed of been back and seen her at least a few times within that month. As well as the reasons that i said in my previous post.

A few quickies
As some of you may or may not know that it was my birthday on the sunday just past. I turned a year older but probably not a year wiser lol.
It was also my friend who i have known for a couple of months who is deaf birthday as well on the same day. She turned 21.
Not mentioning my age but u probably can all work it out.
As well as a good friend of mine's birthday as well. Blimey how many other people are born on my birthday lol.
One of my friends has come out to me that she is hard of hearing (HoH). I have known her for quite some time. She told me that she has been hard of hearing all her life. She also told me that she was fitted with hearing aids from an early age and she got used to them quite quickly and has been wearing hearing aids since. I am the first one of her friends that know she is hard of hearing and wears hearing aids. Basically i am the first one of her friends that she has told. She hasnt told anyone else because she is scared and nervous, etc of what they will think of her, etc. She told me because she knows that i am hard of hearing and kinda wear hearing aids.
She hides the face that she is hard ofd hearing extremely well because she wears her hair down which covers her hearing aids. Always wears it down. She doesnt have a deaf voice/accent. She also lipreads when people are facing her. I havent known up until now that she is HoH because of how well she has covered it up.
Last night/yesterday before i did the washing up I put my hearing aids in to see what i could hear. I only wore my hearing aids for the duration i washed up. And I heard noises that i have never heard before. Some noises sounded like a sloshing noises and a clanging noise and other nnoises/sounds that I heard as well. I dont know where they coming from and i didnt know what was making them.
last but not least, sometimes it seems to be more frequent that is only when i wear/put my hearing aid on and they are in, my tinnitus doesnt seemed to be fully masked by hearigng aids any more. I still can hear some tinnitus whilst sometimes i wear my hearing aids.
I forgot, my audiologis wants to see me about how i am getting on with my hearing aids and if any tweeking needs doing and to test my hearing with my hearing aids and without them. She sent me an email the other day asking me to make an appiontment with her. And see what i can hear with my hearing aids. So i better do it sooner before i forget and before she keeps and sending me reminders. The worry is how am i going to tell her that since i got my hearing aids i have barely worn them at all and since i got them i have worn them for less than an hour in total.

Thursday
On Thursday i had work experience from 9am - 5pm. The days leading up to Thursday i was organizing with my deaf/hoh friend (that i met a couple of months ago)to go to the cinemea to see a film. I gave her a list of films that i wanted to see. And she picked out one. And that was the latest Shrek one. So after work experience (which i left early to be there on time) i got a life to the cinema from my brother. I had brought my hearing aids a long in my bag, but I didnt put theem on/wear them for my reasons. I know I should be trying to wear them each day, but i dont i am sorry to say. I dont even wear them for work experience for other reasons as well. Anyway i stated what i wanted to see to the man i was getting my ticket off and paid with my card. My friend was already sitting in the cinema (she also brought a friend of hers along, she didnt tell me that). So i got my ticket and made my way to the screen. I managed to find my friend plus her friend in the screen. Her friend was sitting behind my friend and texting when i was there and went in. I sat on the end seat. And my friend was to the left of me which is good because my left ear is my better ear (moderate hearing loss). I still didnt have my hearing aids in at this time. So it was hard to understand her. When she started talking i had to turn to faace her to read her lips as possible. It was especially hard when she was eating popcorn. We had a lil chat before the film started. Still without my hearing aids in at this time and didnt have them in anytime when i was in the cinema what so ever. I tryed to understand as much of the spoken words as possible. I think i did good. I t was hard to understand though obviously because of my hearing loss and when your friend is on your left ear side laughing through out the movie it is even harder to understand if I can hear her laugh with my left ear. btw her laugh is loud.
All in all it was an alright time at the cinema with her. Afterwards i went back to hers for pizza. she did ask me. we had a chat at the dinner table. me trying to understand as much as i can. Btw i still didnt have/wear my hearing aids at this time. Then we sat down in the living room and watched some of anoother movie. This time it was much easier and better to understand because my friend put the subtitles on. Even though she was wearing hearing aids.
My friend was diagnosed with a hearing loss at 4 and given hearing aids at age of 7. She has a moderate hearing loss. Has worn hearing aids throughout her life. She is 21 now and still wearing hearing aids. like you do lol. She doesnt sign.
I know this because I interviewed her about her deafness/hearing loss right back within the first weeks of knowing her because i wanted to know her more.
I will put that interview up soon.
